All About American Sweets and Candy

In America, the range of confectionery is vast. All aspects of candy are covered, often in many different flavours including Strawberry, Grape, Orange and many more. Whilst sweets in the UK also come in different flavours, there is just that little something different that confectionery lovers enjoy from American candy.

In previous years, the chance to get candy from America was rare, it was unheard of. Well now this has all changed. With shipments arriving in the UK every few weeks, American sweets are now being enjoyed by everyone!

Where can i find my favourite American food items we hear you ask. Well many online stores, as well as retail outlets are now stocking a wide range of products. Supermarkets stock a selection of the most popular items such as Wonka Nerds and Hershey chocolates.

If you know your American candy though, many online American candy stores that are based in the UK will be much more beneficial for you. These e-commerce websites will have a lot more products to offer and they are usually much more competitively priced than many retail outlets. Brands in the USA are very strong and are often creating new, exciting, colourful products for us Brits to enjoy.

Manufacturers such as Wonka, Nestle, Mars, Reese's and Hershey are creating delicious products with the highest quality ingredients. One of the most popular flavours at the moment is Peanut Butter, which can be found in many products including Snickers and Twix. These famous chocolate bars are traditionally eaten in Britain but varieties such as Peanut Butter and Dark Chocolate are no longer found in the UK... until now!

It isn't just chocolate and candy that is enjoyed. American soda is huge in America, with another extensive range of flavours. Soda companies have a huge inventory of soft drinks including beverages made with real sugar and other flavoured sodas that are very unique including wild cherry and spicy cinnamon. As well as these popular drinks, many are available in a diet version, which is proving to be a very popular choice in Europe!).

Grocery lines have risen in popularity with items such as Twinkies being demanded by the public in the UK. These wonderful, golden, creamy sponge cakes are small cakes that are very tasty. Made by Hostess, these cakes are often so fresh that when they arrive in the UK, the dates are often very near their "best taste" date.

Marshmallow fluff is another grocery line that has seen a huge increase in sales since its arrival in the UK. Coming in a variety of flavours and sizes, marshmallow fluff is now used in a variety of ways throughout meal times.

Zap American Sweets is a UK online American candy store selling American sweets, soda, cereals, chocolate and gifts.

How And When To Use Cranes And Forklifts

Many people know of these two great pieces of machinery, but it is quite hard to explain the difference between the two, seeing as technically they execute the same job. Without the invention of these magnificent machines, we would still be working with hundreds and thousands of people doing manual labour for the construction of buildings. Both of these require a driver to control the machines and to safely go about lifting the heavy objects. Without the driver being there to ensure no accidents can occur it could be extremely dangerous. Please continue reading to find out more about the uses of cranes and forklifts.

Starting off with cranes, these extremely strong machines are used to lift and manoeuvre very heavy and larger objects. With the use of a crane the objects can be lifted at ease and safely. As well as being used on building sites to help with construction, cranes are great for use in mining. This is because they have the ability to rotate 360 degrees, which makes it some much easier to move the heavy pieces in mining from one place to another. Typically, a crane would require approximately 2-3 people to operate it efficiently and safely.

The best places and situations to use cranes are outdoors, when lifting extremely heavy and large products and when needing to rotate the objects. With so many different cranes out there on the market from gantry cranes, all terrain cranes, used cranes, new cranes, and so much more, you will be able to find one specific for your needs.

Moving onto forklifts, which are the majority of the time used in warehouses when they need to transport different items from one place to another. Compared to cranes, forklifts can be used by only one person who is obviously trained in using them safely. Another difference between the two is forklifts should not be used to lift very heavy objects, whereas cranes can do so. If you do overload a forklift it can lead to instability and breaking down.

As with cranes, they are many different types of forklifts available for use such as mask and telescopic. The different kinds of forklifts have various uses and weight lifting abilities so again it is important to know how much weight you are going to be lifting to ensure it is safe.

To sum up, both cranes and forklifts are great ways of transporting heavy goods, and however similar they may be the main difference between the two is cranes are capable of lifting a lot more heavier goods and working to a larger scale.

Why Science Fiction Is Important

Science fiction has long been maligned as a subpar genre of literature. That sentiment has legitimate roots, of course. The major criticism of the genre, and why it has been frowned upon in higher literary circles, is that it is not sufficiently reverent towards the human spirit. Specifically, the gem of civilization has always been that it produces beings that have a depth of consciousness, that is in many ways, so complex, and so wonderful, that it constitutes an end in itself, a new perfect thing, that has a place in creation alongside the animals and plants and flowers and mountains. Of course the sanctity of the human soul is something to be protected.

And of course, historically, science fiction has generally been found to be heavy on the plot and environment, to the detriment of its focus on the fineness of the hero's character and consciousness. But what a more careful look will show, is that that lack of depth is purposeful, that it exists in order to allow the reader space to contemplate the particularities of their life, of the society in which they live. In a sense, a large part of any work of science fiction, and particularly of the characters that dwell in those worlds, is the contemplation of the specifics of existence. The general religious view towards life, and civilization as it progresses, is that the human soul stays fixed, and that technology is basically trivia that exists in the ever fixed stage of the human experience. The great work of science fiction has been to dismantle that fallacy.

This is necessary. People without a sense of responsibility towards the fruits of technology make decisions that are unwise and irresponsible. The fact is that technology has added an aspect to the world that is new, and is dealt with by everyone everyday. It has altered the point of view of humanity, thus altering the human experience. It has created the very real possibility of creating worlds that resemble the human dreamscape. Science fiction, by emphasizing the mundanity of the characters, ironically enough, wakes up the reader to their own sublimity, in any environment, and takes measures to preserve the human spirit as our world tumbles into the future.

There is of course an entirely different function of science fiction, which is that it serves a larger purpose in the progression of art and literature. Many have said that the integrity of art had been compromised around 1900, citing science fiction as an example of the death of literature, but I believe the world is headed towards a renaissance of art, and science fiction may very well be a bridge towards the new era, and much like Rudolph's red nose, will lead the way.

Learning The Way to Study - How The Process Works

There are literally millions of people around the world seeking a good way to study, to get better grades, to study for exams and for tips for study skills, My goal with this website is to provide you with a roadmap that leads you toward your destination.

What is Learning

Most of the world's greatest scholars agree that learning is an on-going process. They make it a point to learn something new every day-some continue the process throughout the day. Does this result in learning-overload? No it does not.

The human mind has what amounts to a nearly infinite capacity to store new materials every waking hour. Some minds are even very active during sleep, and the individual often awakens from a deep sleep with the answer he/she has been seeking.

Brain vs. Computer

Our psyche developed since birth to set specific pathways for the storage of information into the mind. Our minds are much like the database in the computer you are seeing this page. Your computer stores information by converting what you feed in, and it converts this information into bits and bites of electronic pulses.

The Brain is Like a Hard Drive

Neuroscientists tell us that the brain is much like a hard drive-but it has no moving parts. Certain areas of the brain serve as storage depots. We see, hear, smell or touch something, and the brain takes this sensory input and converts it into electrical impulses. Through unknown, undiscovered means, the brain moves these impulses to either our short-term memory or our long-term memory. As far as learning is concerned, which is dependent upon long-term storage, we have an expectation of being able at some future time to be able to find that memory and to use it.

Learning a New Process

Therefore, the way to study is the take a bit of information and write it to our mind's hard drive. But this involves learning a new process, it involves our creating a working "directory." A computer directory is described as a hierarchy of folders inside of other folders that make up the complete computer system. At the top of this hierarchy is the root directory, which contains all files organized by their location.

The computer, PC or MAC, creates a "registry" so that when we need to recover something from the computer's memory this registry finds it-hopefully. But registries tend to get screwed up as we add more and more information. To this end an entire industry has built up offering "Registry Cleaners."

And the human mind acts in a very similar fashion.

When Did the Learning Process Begin

Back in the early days of computing, the term "Garbage in-garbage out" was coined. This is even a truer statement today, due to the complexity and sophistication of today's machines. But it seems like computer science is far more advanced than human evolution. If we can believe the paleontologists, the first human like creatures, homo habilis, entered the fossil record over 2 million years ago. From that time forward, the human brain slowly grew in size and function.

How Smart Were Humans 500 Years Ago

So were humans less intelligent... say 500 years ago? Judge for yourself. Leonardo Da Vinci is considered a genius as a painter (Mona Lisa) but he once wrote, "For once you have tasted flight, your eyes will turn forever skyward, for it is there you have been and there you long to be." Di Vinci left numerous scientific sketches as part of his legacy. Did he simply dream up a glider and a kind of helicopter? Did he actually fly in one of those contraptions? The historical record doesn't say.

On the various pages of my personal website you will find various topics covering good ways to study, learn to study faster, how to develop a study mindset, handle test anxiety and much more. Please do browse around. My sincere hope is that I will lead you to the answers you need. How To Study Website" Here's a great starting point

The Star Spangled Banner's Story

I was just researching the story of our national anthem and thought I would share my results with those who have forgotten the story.

Francis Scott Key was a lawyer in Baltimore when the colonies were engaged in a vicious conflict with the British. At that point in time, both sides of the conflict had an abundant amount of prisoners in their camps. The Americans went to the British and tried to negotiate the release of their prisoners who were being held in boats about a thousand yards off shore. They then sent Key out in a row boat to see if he could come up with a mutual exchange. The British then agreed that they would release the prisoners on a one-to-one basis.

Well, Francis Scott Key was jubilant with enthusiasm and went below into the cargo hold of a ship to tell the men that they were once again free men. He told the men that by evening they would be released from their shackles and could leave the filth they were living in. As Key returned top side he was met by the British Admiral who told him that the men's release would be honored, but it would be merely academic after that night. He then told Key that they have laid down an ultimatum. He said "Tonight your people will capitulate and lay down the colors of that flag that you think so much of, or we are going to remove Fort McHenry from the face of the earth." He then pointed Key towards the horizon where he saw hundreds of tiny dots and was told that it was the entire British war fleet. All of the British armament was being called upon to demolish Ft. McHenry. Key explained that Fort McHenry was not a military fort and was filled with women and children. The Admiral explained that if the flag that flew over the ramparts was lowered, the shelling would stop immediately. At that point in time the Americans would have surrendered to British.

At sunset the British war fleet unleashed. The dark skies were suddenly lit and the noise was defining. Below deck the soldiers asked Key to tell them what was happening, and what was the condition of the flag.

After many hours of shelling, the Admiral completely perplexed that the flag would not come down, said that all the attention from that point on would be focused on taking out the flag.

Sunrise came and the flagpole was bent but still standing with a tattered flag still flying. The reason the flag withstood the barrage was due to brave men holding up the flagpole to their death. As each brave soldier died, another took his place so the flag never dropped. Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave, o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

5 Reasons Why You Should "Not" Use a Travel Agent

Thank you Internet! In this day of age everything is at our fingertips and retail is quickly going by the wayside. No more line-ups, no more commissioned agents, and no more chess moves in the parking lot for a parking space. All is great in the digital world... or is it?

I can't speak for Clothiers, Big Box Malls, or even those annoying Jewellery buyers you see on your local news station but what I do have a voice in is the Travel market. Excess spending is a weird dance partner in that we are told to save and get those much sought after bargains yet, we still love to spend. We all want cheap vacations to the sunniest of destinations to get away from the stress of everyday life. So why are we paying someone to do it? Well, you aren't, and realistically, you never have. Travel Agents in general get not one cent from the consumer but are paid by airlines, hotels, tour operators and car rental companies. They sit on the phone hours on end trying to knock $30 off of your airfare, $500 off of your all-inclusive package, and even try to throw in an upgrade here and there just to get your business. It is a cut-throat industry that subjects an agent to work upwards of 2 days just to get a $1000 booking of which an agent on commission gets a whopping $30. Don't worry about them though because as they hunt down the next best deal for you, I'm sure you thought about these 5 reasons not to use a Travel Agent:

1. Customer Service. I'm sure the next time you're stranded, get checked in to a crappy hotel, or deal with the airline that just lost your luggage you will be able to resolve it with the contacts you have as a tourist as opposed to the Travel Agent with years of experience, contacts and knowledge. Also, if you had a great trip... awesome. If not, good luck with that web page you booked through.

2. Price makes a big difference as to where people travel. Ever wonder how one agency can beat the other? That would be because the Travel Agent you aren't supposed to be using just gave away all of the commission to give you the best deal. But I'm sure we can all get a better deal from a pre-priced website.

3. Knowledge is everything in the travel industry, but why would you take an agent's firsthand experience about a resort or destination when you can look at a 1X1 inch thumbnail of the lobby? Seems reasonable to me.

4. Security with passport information and Credit Card numbers are much more secure over the internet than actually dealing with a live person... think about it.

5. Time means nothing as you get to spend days on end comparing prices, flight times, reviews and arranging transfers with a company you have no idea about. If only there was a person or "agent" that knew about this and could have it done from experience before I even called around.

Listen, these 5 reasons are why travelers have bad vacations. Don't make your next vacation a crappy one, let 411travelbuys give you the best deals, customer service and security on you next vacation... GUARANTEED!

Travel Recommendations For Gambia

Review a list of Gambia travel agencies who can provide professional assistance in preparing your journey to this African destination. They can offer such things as cheaper flights, better and safer hotels and other important services.

The Republic of Gambia, often referred to as Gambia, is a country in the western part of Africa. Gambia is the smallest country on the continent, and it surrounded by Senegal practically from all sides, except for a small patch of coastline in the Atlantic Ocean. Gambia is home to some white sand beaches. The main beach resorts include Kololi, Kotu and Cape Point.

The country is situated along the Gambia River, which flows right through the country's center into the Atlantic Ocean. Gambia is home to the population of about 1.7 million. Gambia has a few noteworthy landmarks and monuments. Perhaps the most famous of them are the Senegambia Stone Circles, which serve as burial sites, joined together in large numbers and looking more like pillars.

Those, who visit the country's capital, the city of Banjul, will surely need to see the Arch 22, Fort Bullen and the Banjul State House. This trio creates the group of the city's most popular landmarks. There are also the important historical remains of Fort James in James Island.

Gambia is a small country, but even in terms of its size Banjul is tiny. However, it leads to certain advantages: the city is pleasant and clean, friendly and unlike bustling large cities. Banjul is situated on St Mary's Island on the banks of the River Gambia. It is a great place to get acquainted with the culture of the country. The centre is known for many old British colonial buildings, colourful street markets and craft stalls. Boat excursions to Albreda are offered to familiarize the visitors with the period of slave trading as one of the biggest mistakes of the mankind. Banjul's most impressive building is the State House, which is the seat of government and the office of the country's president.

Arch 22 is considered the highest structure in Gambia, dominating the city streets of Banjul. It commemorates the military revolution that brought President Yahya Jammeh to power. The arch itself is constituted of three floors, with spiral stairs and elevators. Already from the second floor, one can get a great view over the whole city of Banjul. There is also a small cafe and a shop here.

Senegambia Stone Circles can be found on the north bank of the Gambia River. Often called Wassu Stone Circles, they are seen as one of the more important destinations. It is widely believed that these are ancient burial sites. The stones are huge and reach almost three meters in height. Visitors can find out more about the Wassu stone circles in a visitor centre.

Fort Bullen was aimed at fighting off French slavers along the River Gambia. After being abandoned for some time, the fort was revived again during World War II, when it was used as an observatory and a base for British artillery. Today, Fort Bullen is one of Gambia's best historic monuments.

Another historic attraction, Fort James, lies in ruins. However, it still conveys the sense of history of the country. Fort James was located in the place where many slaves waited for ships to take them to America. At other times, the fort was occupied by the British, French and Dutch authorities. Gambia is known to have 7 natural reserves and national parks, which occupy 3.6% of the territory of the country. Abuko Nature Reserve has a great variety of wildlife, including porcupines, monkeys, and reptiles, such as lizards, geckos and snakes. It was created back in 1968 not far from the capital of the country. Apart from Abuko, Gambia is famous for its protected forests and marshes, special reserves for birds and chimpanzees.

Travel agencies in Gambia are awaiting your travel requests to provide a free quote. Gambia tour operators are the companies who offer basic travel services, such as excursions, tours, hotels and flights.

Where to Escape the Rain in the UK

It's on everyone's minds this summer... Where does one spend time in this utterly dire weather? How can you turn rain and eternal greyness into a positive experience? Fortunately for us, there are plenty of exciting indoor destinations throughout the UK where you can while away the hours blissfully forgetting the misery that prevails outdoors.

So don't let the rain dampen your holiday spirit. Go on that long-awaited holiday and discover Britain's museums, galleries, restaurants, spas, steam railways and other indoor attractions.

Museums and Galleries

See the good in bad weather by using it as a reason to learn something. So many of us put off going to museums always saying we'll find the time to go in the future but somehow never do. When was the last time you visited a local gallery or museum?

Kids and adults alike will love most of Britain's science and natural history museums. Some of the best are the Science Museum in London, Glasgow Science Centre, and Thinktank Birmingham.

Art lovers will appreciate the newly renovated Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh, Leeds Art Gallery for its impressive collection of 20th century British works, and the contemporary Tate Liverpool.

Spas

Spas and health farms can be found both in the heart of the countryside and cities. Whether you drop in for a spontaneous hour-long treatment or book yourself in for a weekend of pampering, the relaxing experience will make it easy to switch off, and forget about the rain and any worries.

On particularly chilly days hot treatments are one of the best ways to warm up. Look into different body wraps and hot stone massages.

Other Attractions

Use the weather as a reason to do something you've always wanted to do. How about taking a ride on a steam train? There are plenty in areas such as The Cotswolds and The Lake District. Check out the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway in Cumbria, and Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway.

Or how about some winter sports in the middle of the summer? The UK is home to numerous indoor ski and snowboard slopes such as The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, London, and Xscape centres in Leeds, Glasgow and Milton Keynes.

Food and Drinks

Nothing can warm you up quite the same as a hearty British meal and cheeky drink. With so many cafes, gastropubs and restaurants scattered throughout the country, even the most picky of gourmets will find something to tickle their tastebuds.

For Michelin-starred cuisine a good spot is Edinburgh's aptly-named Michelin mile in the picturesque Shore area.

If you're a fan of ethnic foods, Manchester's Curry mile and Birmingham's Balti triangle are good bets for some of the UK's best curries and other concoctions.

Phuying Praphet Song or The Second Kind Of Lady

Phuying praphet song in Thai means 'second kind of lady' Throughout the world, Thailand's ladyboys or kathoeys as they are rightly called can be seen everyday in all kinds of occupations here in Bangkok. As apposed to popular belief they do not all work in the entertainment industries. They are completely assimilated into modern day Thai society and work in shops, offices, garages and just about everywhere. Thais are very accepting of people and differences, kathoeys therefore, are not only accepted but in a strange way referred by Thai people. Most Thai girls will have ladyboys in their circle of friends and taxi drivers are all to ready to point them out and say, "Ladyboy, beautiful" at every possible chance. In Chiang Mai, in Northern Thailand they recently built a huge new comprehensive school. The toilet blocks have girls, boys and kathoeys toilets, in a show of acceptance that is hard to imagine ever happening in The UK or The United States. That teenage children can accept gender and sexual differences is a remarkable demonstration of the lack of prejudice in this part of Southeast Asia.

Of course ladyboys do work in the sex and entertainment areas but so do girls. It is a lifestyle choice that is open to all and doesn't carry the same stigma as it does in the West. The kathoeys that work in the go-go bars of Nana Plaza, Patpong and Soi Cowboy can be quite predatory and some men do feel quite threatened by them. But the girls who work there are just the same and again it's not that they work here because they are ladyboys, they just happen to be ladyboys who choose to work there. Judging all kathoeys on the basis of a predatory go-go dancer is just as crazy as judging all Thai girls because you have had a run in with a Girl go-go dancer. Ironically in these bars it is illegal for girls to bare their breasts but not for kathoeys. They are still judged as men by the Thai government and as men they cannot be stopped from baring their breasts.

I visited the Simon Cabaret in Chiang Mai, my then girlfriend wanted to go. Thai girls love to watch ladyboys and consider them to be more beautiful than themselves, which is a strange concept when you are sitting with a truly beautiful Thai girl. Offer to take any girl on a date to watch ladyboys in a go-go bar and she will be happy. The kathoeys at Simon Cabaret are extremely beautiful though, two or three were so convincing it was almost impossible to believe. The mimed their way through the show and danced and generally enjoyed themselves. It was a good night out and all returned happy. For a few baht they were happy to have their photos taken with the audience after the show.

Whilst some kathoeys seem happy to live their lives as a man who merely dresses as a woman, some do go the extra mile to get the reality. Hormone treatments, breast implants, buttock implants, operations to remove veins from their hands, shaving of the adam's apple, face lifts, botox injections and of course the full gender alignment surgery are all on the menu. Thailand and particularly Bangkok has the best breast implant specialists on the planet. I can never understand a woman in The States paying thousands of dollars for an average boob job, when they could fly here, holiday for three weeks and get the whole trip including the surgery, cheaper. The end results will be better in Thailand as well.

I have no idea what causes there to be so many in Thailand. It is a question for which nobody seems to have an answer. Maybe they are just more accepted so young boys have more choices in their pubescent years. Maybe there is something in the diet that causes female hormones to increase. But one thing I cannot explain is why a lot of them are so tall, there are not many tall men in Thailand, but there are plenty of very tall kathoeys. I suppose that as Thai people have a much more beautiful look about them, it is easy to make a convincing lady if that is your leaning. Maybe there are just as many in The West but they are forced by convention to hide away from the world.

Surely there is room for all in this day and age.

How a Limo Service Can Spark Romance

Many people solicit the help of a limo service for their wedding. Members of the wedding party, along with close family members and friends are usually chauffeured to the big event. Sometimes, the bride and groom even decide to join in after the festivities. This is one of the more popular reasons that people use this type of vehicle. Another popular time for a limo service is during school dances, such as proms. Other times, they are frequently used by those who are considered to be rich and famous. Although all of these instances represent some of the ways that a limousine is usually used, there is another instance where it could also be useful and beneficial. For example, it could be utilized to spark or create a romantic atmosphere or experience.

One way this can be done is by soliciting the help of a limo service for a first date. Just imagine if a young man asked a romantic interest out on a date. The potential couple set the date up for a Friday evening. They planned to go to dinner and then catch a movie. Hours before the man's arrival, the young lady prepared herself. She went through about ten different outfits before she could find the perfect one. Then, she applied some of her best makeup. About twenty minutes before her date's arrival, the young lady anxiously waited near the window of her front door. Minutes later, she saw a black limousine pull up in front of her house. The chauffeur got out and opened up the passenger door and out came her date. You could only imagine the surprise, excitement and awe this caused. There's no doubt that she was thoroughly impressed.

A limo service could also be used for a wedding anniversary celebration. Sometimes, couples spend thousands of dollars that they don't have trying to go to expensive resorts. They may have a good time while they are away. However, when they finally get back, they are forced to face the reality of their money spending decision. Instead of trying to do something they can't afford, the couple could go on a romantic night on the town, while being chauffeured around in a limousine. Not only does this create an aura of romance, however, it also allows both people to fully relax without having to worry about driving.

It's clear to see that a limo service is a great option for anyone who wants to create a love-centered and romantic atmosphere. There is something about a limousine that causes people to feel a sense of relaxation, comfort and class.

Ghana As A Travel Destination in Africa

Visit Ghana, a beautiful African country, using the services of professional travel agents who possess a good knowledge of the local conditions and skills to organize your tour in the best and inexpensive way.

Ghana is one of the most unique countries in the African continent. The ancient history of this land shows the world a great many of unique cultures and peoples. The Empire of Ghana flourished here in the Middle Ages. The medieval Kingdom of Mali helped one of the most colorful African ethnic groups, Ashanti, to foster their culture that can now be studied by tourists. The modern Republic of Ghana was formed from the former British colonies of Gold Coast and Togoland and became the first country in the region that gained independence in 1957. Colonial history has left the strongest imprint on modern Ghana.

Ghana is an African 'castle country'. The two coastal forts, the British Usher Fort and the Danish Kristianborg castle, were the place where the capital of Ghana, Accra, was founded. Up to this day, it has preserved these historic neighborhoods. Near the center of the capital, one will find Makola Market, the best place to buy batik and glass-art products made by local craftsmen.

Jamestown is a small peninsula on the south-west of the capital. It is an area of picturesque ruins of the past which are neighbored by the settlements of the city's poorest people. Independence Square in Accra is considered by many to be the copy of the Red Square in Moscow; it is a very picturesque place of regular festive military parades.

Accra Arts Center is located between Independence Square and the city center. It hosts a museum and a permanent exhibition, where the products of local artisans are sold. The Arts Center is also a good venue for regular song festivals, dance performances and theatrical troupes. Nearby is one of the few in Africa full-fledged dance clubs, Nkrumah Circle. From the south, the capital city is bordered by beautiful beaches, some of which correspond to the world standards: Coco Beach, Nungu and others.

To the north of the capital, there is quite an interesting Aburi Botanical Garden, which was opened in 1890. To the west of the capital, there lies the town of Kokrobit, the location of a unique African institution, the African Academy of Music and Art with numerous schools of vocal and dance skills, exhibition halls and art studios. There is also a beautiful hotel, a restaurant and a well-groomed beach area. The number of exhibitions, concerts and festivals held here is huge.

Along the coast, there are old European fortresses, reaching 15 in number. Hundreds of fishing villages give you an insight into the local traditions. One of the most visited villages is Senja Beraku. It is populated by very friendly people and has a magnificent beach, the cleanest one in the region, which is a kind of Mecca for surfers. Apamea, another small fishing village, is famous for its Fort Patience, reconstructed as a hotel.

The main town of the region, Cape Coast, is famous for its Castle of Cape Coast and a few nearby castles. Some of the local Dutch castles were literally brought from Holland and rebuilt in Ghana. The very popular among tourists Kakuma National Park is created for the protection of the coastal populations of antelope, monkeys, elephants and more than 200 species of birds.

Kumasi is the ancient capital of the Ashanti kingdom, which still retains a reputation as one of the leading cultural centers in West Africa. The local National Cultural Center is a charming museum of the history of the Ashanti people with a library and a trade center. In Kumasi, you can also visit an original Zoo, organized so well that in fact it is an exact copy of a piece of local nature, grown with vegetation and looking even more like a botanical garden. Be sure to visit a lot of colorful celebrations and festivals, so admired by the people of this country.

A Limo Bus Can Be Used for More Than Just Wild Parties

When some people think of a limo bus, the first thing that comes to mind is a bunch of college students having wild parties. They think of alcohol, loud music along with a host of other things. Although this may be a reality in some cases, wild parties or parties in general aren't the only things these large luxury vehicles are suited for. In fact, they can be used for things such as tours or family vacations.

For example, if you have family coming into town and you are thinking of giving them a tour of your city, you could rent a limo bus for the occasion. Of course, this probably wouldn't be appropriate if there are just 2 or 3 people coming. However, whenever there is a moderately large group of people, this would be a great way to accommodate them. This is an especially good idea if they are coming into town during the middle of the summer. Instead of having to walk around in the heat, they would be able to view the sights and sounds from the comfort of an air-conditioned, luxury vehicle. This would also be a good idea, if some or most of the group was elderly. It's much more comfortable for them to sit in a comfortable and spacious limo bus, then for them to have to walk around.

Along with allowing you to host city tours, a limo bus is also great for family vacations. Some people choose to rent out campers. However, the oversized luxury vehicle is a great alternative. This would be an especially good idea for people with children. Sometimes, kids can get very impatient when it comes to road trips. An hour can seem like 10 hours to them. This can cause them to become bored, restless and agitated. Therefore, they tend to take the agitation out on their parents by acting out. This makes the ride seem even longer for the adults. So, a road trip that was supposed to be fun turns out to be a drag for everyone.

However, when you are using a vehicle that is large enough for people to move around freely in, the story becomes quite different. No one has to complain about not having enough leg room. They can even stretch out on the seat, depending on how many people are in the automobile. Riding in one of these vehicles can really make the road trip experience even better.

So, a limo bus is not just something that is appropriate for wild parties. However, families can also find ways to benefit from these unique limousines. This just goes to show that some things can be used for more than what people have grown to believe.

The Freedom of Traveling Light

My wife and I just returned from a mini vacation. This vacation was not like any other because we decided to travel light. What I mean by traveling light is that we decided to use regular backpacks only to put our clothes and travel items in. I have been doing a lot of research on simple traveling and wanted to put it in action to see how we would do for an 8 day trip to central America. Well it turns out it that using one bag was a huge success. We both managed to bring what we needed and never felt dirty or tired with what we were wearing or with our activities on our leisure time.

I discovered for myself so much freedom in traveling light. The airport was a breeze with all the security checks and customs. Anytime that we needed something it was very easy to find because all of the things we brought with us were between our feet when on the plane or in a bus. I did not worry if I forgot something because I had way less to keep track of.

To also keep with the traveling light idea we had very few plans on what we were going to do while on the trip. This was a first for myself because I tend to always want an itinerary and have things set up in advance to make sure we get the tickets needed for an event or whatever. This time it was different. We just made sure we had a place to stay and had our plane tickets. We then just took it as it came, and it was great.

We ended up meeting great people and we were invited to multiple trips to different areas of the country which we would not have been able to go if I had everything all mapped out in advanced. It was impossible for the weather to spoil our trip because we had nothing set up to do. So when it rained, which it did, we were able to enjoy it and sit inside a bar talking with the locals with out a care or sitting inside reading and relaxing with no stress. Without having an agenda we were able to be less stressed and could really enjoy our surroundings and each other much more.

Now since this was the first time traveling light we were a little unprepared for some things. So we decided to make a list of everything that we brought so that way we could take notes about what we would add or subtract from the list. We each have one and so next time we travel light we can have a reference.

Here is my original list.

Tips For Maintaining Your Pet's Weight And Health

It seems too many pets may be influenced by their human parents when it comes to bad eating habits. Unfortunately too many of our pets are overweight or even obese. Some studies suggest that about fifty percent of cats and dogs in the US are overweight. That's a high percentage, too high.

Potential Health Problems

Just like us humans, when cats and dogs are overweight their risk of contracting health problems increases significantly. Health problems can mean conditions as serious as diabetes or problems with the heart and kidney. Other common health issues include digestive problems, a weaker immune system and arthritis. All of these can have a strong effect on the animal's life span and quality of life. With all they give to us, unconditional love and companionship, they deserve a good quality of life.

Maintaining A Healthy Weight

The keys to keeping your pet at a healthy weight include providing a healthy diet and regular exercise. Regular exercise for a dog can mean a daily walk or play time in the back yard or a dog park. When it is too cold to spend much time outside you can easily find fun games to play indoors like fetch. For cats going outdoors can provide them with exercise, although it can introduce them to other potential problems. Another great way to get exercise is to play with them indoors. There are some great cat toys available; by rotating toys you can keep them more interested in their favorites. Playing with your pets is a fun way to spend time together and bond anyway. Plus it can be therapeutic after a stressful day.

Feeding your cat or dog a complete, balanced diet is essential for good health and weight control. Controlling the amount of food and feeding two times a day is important too, instead of feeding them as much as they want. This is especially important if you have a pet with a weight problem. Some pets only eat what they need, but many will overeat for a variety of reasons.

It is good to continually monitor your pet's weight to make sure they are at a healthy weight, not too heavy but not too thin either. Adjust the amount of food you are feeding accordingly, but if you notice big changes in your pet's weight or if your pet is too overweight it is good to work with your veterinarian to make sure there isn't another problem that needs to be addressed.

Buying A Quality Pet Food

Feeding your pet a high quality food can make a big difference. Many higher quality foods offer extras like Omega fats, probiotics and supplements for joint support to help improve your pet's health and keep the immune system strong. Many holistic pet foods offer these extras as well.

While a quality pet food may seem more expensive at first you may find you save that money on fewer vet visits and fewer health problems.

Choosing a quality pet food can be confusing because of branding and marketing. Learn how to read labels and cut through the hype by knowing what to look for and what to avoid with the information provided at: http://organic-catfood.net/

Taking Care Of Animals Whatever The Weather

Whilst it is true that customer needs come first, when you are dealing with animals, you have to consider who really is the customer or the end user. It does not take any great thought to know it is of course the animals. Animal feed in particular has to be the number one priority in order to keep animals fit, well, full of bounce and healthy. Just like humans when our health often shows up most in our skin and hair, with animals it is important to consider their fur and claws as well as the other usual more outer aspects of health such as ears, nose and eyes.

One of the difficulties in looking after animals is that there are so many things to get right. Shelter is of fundamental importance and this does not only apply to overnight shelter. Nor does it mean that shelter is something animals only need when the temperature drops to below 0C. Most animals require some form of daily shelter from the various elements and extremes that our weather patterns can, and do, frequently deliver. In hilly or more exposed areas, winds can be a major factor and while air temperatures may appear quite reasonable a will chill factor can easily make a big difference.

Animal feed alone will not compensate for animals feeling chilled or suffering from low temperatures, no matter how superior is the product. Extremes of heat can also affect animals and hot sun is well known to cause severe dehydration and heat exhaustion in many animals, even the large farm animals. Horses may need regular cooling showers and they will also need to be given areas of shade. Heavy downpours of rain might affect some animals if they are left in cold, damp, windy conditions with not enough dry bedding to sleep on. Snow and ice are of course also hazards and it may not always be apparent that animals are suffering extremes of temperature. When you have the shelter and accommodation aspects correct for your animals, top quality animal feed should always be bought for animals as a main priority. It is not advisable to skimp and go cheap on this aspect because it is likely you will pay further down the line in veterinary care.

Ordering online is a good idea when it could be extremely difficult to get through tracks and roads such as in severe flooding, gales and snow.

Looking After Various Animals

Taking care of animals is a huge responsibility and especially when you have a large number on a farm or in stables. There are many facets in animal care to get right and a lot of things that can go wrong. Large animals such as pigs, goats, sheep and cows need large amounts of food and where you source the animal feed from is important.

Animals are not people and for the most part, when kept in captivity, they are not independent to be able to look after themselves in quite the same way we humans can. Training and experience is of course absolutely necessary to get all elements of large animal care correct. There are also numerous health and safety standards to think about and care for the environment.

To be directly involved in animal welfare and husbandry, also requires passion, energy and a real love for them. It is for this reason that in the past that people who looked after large farm animals would trudge daily to cold, damp barns, often miles away. They would do this relentlessly on icy cold winter days, when the weather is damp, foggy, muggy or in the heat of summer. When livelihoods depend on good animal care, it makes common sense to get animal feed at the top of your list of priorities.

The fantastic thing about technology today is that you no longer have to traipse about in all weathers to get your feeding stuff for your large animals. Taking the right amount of care for them has not altered and technology cannot replace the passion, pride and joy of seeing animals grow, develop and be well maintained in secure environments. It also does not mean going cheap and purchasing raw food materials that are of low quality and in the long term unhealthy. It is the same for manufactured animal feed that comes from another source where chemicals and preservatives may have been added in the process.

Getting your foodstuff right for your animals just has to be number one priority. It is therefore advisable to look carefully at how you are going to obtain sufficient stocks to get you through the months when you are extra busy with different aspects of the animal care that require your attention such as veterinary procedures. Another factor you have to take into account is what are you going to do in inclement weather and an online source may be best.

Is Your Dog Shedding? 5 Reasons Your Dog's Hair May Be Coming Out

Dog hair on your dog is a beautiful thing. Dog hair all over the furniture and floor is not. If you feel like you're losing the battle against your pet's hair, here are 5 reasons that may be causing your dog to shed.

Light---If you run your fingers through your dog's coat, you will find that there is a thick undercoat beneath what you see when you just look at your pet. How long this coat remains is determined by the length of the days.

So in the winter months when the days are shorter, their coat remains mostly intact because shorter days mean less sunlight which generally equals colder weather---a time when your pooch needs its fur to insulate it from the cold.

As the length of days increases, this triggers shedding of the undercoat. Isn't it awesome how animals' bodies are programmed to react in this way?

Temperature----If your dog is an outside dog, its undercoat will remain intact until warmer temperatures trigger shedding. If your dog is an inside dog, the comparatively mild temperatures year round may cause your dog to shed year round (good news right?). The upside is that your pooch may not develop as thick an undercoat as it would normally because temperature remains moderate.

Illness---Just as in humans, illness can cause a lot of natural body functions to go out of whack. So many more dogs seem to be affected by cancer which can certainly cause shedding; and the chemotherapy used to battle this disease often causes shedding.

Stress--- This can result from physical and emotional issues. Examples of physical stressors include being left in a crate for too long, hunger, thirst, infection, surgery, lack of sleep, pain.

Emotional stressors include fear (thunderstorms, car rides, meeting people and or other dogs, fireworks), separation anxiety, depression, and lack of companionship.

If these situations occur on a regular basis, it's easy to see how this can affect the overall health of your pet. Doing all you can to help your dog avoid these situations can reduce shedding.

Scratching----Continuous scratching will take hair out in a fast and furious way. Many times this behavior happens because of allergies. They can be triggered by diet, or because of something with which your dog has physical contact.

For instance, if your dog is allergic to wool, and the rugs on your floor are wool, laying on them is enough to keep your dog continually itchy. Allergies can also result from allergens that are inhaled. So itching may be more pronounced at a certain time of the year.

Take the dog hair and dander out of your air and reduce the amount on furniture and floors. See the Pet Dander Air Purifier from PurerAir.com at http://purerair.com/pet_dander_air_purifier.html
